Training Overview
The course begins with online theory through the my.DiveSSI app. You can complete the academic training at your own pace before arriving in Gran Canaria.
The SSI Science of Diving course is primarily a self-study program supported by our experienced SSI professionals. If you have questions while studying the material, our team is always available to assist you.
The program covers the main scientific principles that influence scuba diving, including:
- Diving physics and gas laws
- Human physiology and pressure effects on the body
- The aquatic environment and marine ecosystems
- How scuba diving equipment functions
