Artificial Reef is a fascinating man-made dive site in southern Gran Canaria, created by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 1991. The large concrete structures placed on the ocean floor to study aquatic life, are a thriving biotope that attract a wide variety of marine species.
The site consists of blocks, cubes, and tube structures sitting on a white sandy seabed, creating an impressive visual contrast that makes this dive a favorite among photographers. The dive is a must-do dive for underwater photographers and marine life enthusiasts, thanks to its combination of diverse species and striking concrete structures on a bright sandy seabed.

The Artificial Reef dive site is located approximately 4.5 nautical miles (8.3 km) from Scuba Sur Gran Canaria. Boat travel time from the Scuba Sur dive centre at Anfi del Mar is about 20–25 minutes.
