Take the next step with the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (AOWD) course at Scuba Sur Gran Canaria allows certified divers to take their skills further. This course provides new diving adventures, deeper limits (up to 30 meters), and the opportunity to explore specialized dive types. Upon certification, you gain the confidence and knowledge to dive safely in a wider variety of underwater environments worldwide.

Training Overview
The course begins with online theory through the PADI app. You can complete this at your own pace before arriving in Gran Canaria.
Practical training consists of 5 Adventure Dives, which are the first dives of PADI specialty courses. Two dives are mandatory to achieve certification: Deep Diver and Navigation. The remaining three dives can be chosen from available local specialties, such as:
- Wreck Diving
- Peak Performance Buoyancy (PPB)
- Boat Dives
- Fish Identification
- Search and Recovery
Dives may be conducted from the boat or shore, depending on the selected specialty. The minimum age to participate is 12 years.
The course is mainly self-study, supported by instructors to answer questions at any time during your training.
Certification Result
After successfully completing the course, you will receive the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification, which allows you to dive up to 30 meters worldwide with a certified dive buddy and participate in a variety of specialty dives.
