Anita and Joris, the Team Behind Scuba Sur in Gran Canaria
At Scuba Sur, everything revolves around our passion for diving. We, Anita and Joris, a Belgian couple, completely changed our lives. We swapped our busy lives in Belgium to make our dream a reality: Scuba Sur. In April 2015, after years of dedication and intensive training, we proudly became the owners of Scuba Sur. So we exchanged cloudy Belgium for the beautiful coasts of Gran Canaria and our own dive school.
From Belgian Routine to Our Dive School in Gran Canaria
Our love for diving began as a cherished hobby back in Belgium. After our first diving lessons, we were immediately hooked, and this passion led us to incredible dive locations all over the world. As expected, it was during these travels that the idea arose to make this our profession. We would set up our own dive centre!
To make this dream a reality, Joris dedicated himself to becoming a certified dive instructor. Afterwards, he gained valuable experience at various dive centres across Europe. Anita completed several training courses in the management of a dive school. This background, combined with our previous professional experience, creates a solid foundation for setting up our dive school. In the sunny Canary Islands, just a few hours from Belgium, we found the perfect location. Moving to Gran Canaria was an important first step; acquiring Scuba Sur, an existing dive school, was the next. The new Scuba Sur in Gran Canaria, run by Anita and Joris, was born.

Leaving everything behind and moving here was a bold move, but one that has brought immense fulfilment. We have no regrets about our decision to create the current Scuba Sur.
